Learning goals of the week
Define and apply key principles and guidelines to consider implications of artificial intelligence to the common good.
In this first part of the week we will read and discuss the following themes: 3.1 Privacy, 3.2 Accountability, 3.3 Safety and Security, 3.4 Transparency and Explainability. Please, focus on the concepts of each theme and try to connect them with real world examples.
These are simple multiple-choice questions designed to reinforce some of the critical concepts of the reading material. More important than getting the answers "right" is to go back to the BK document with a critical perspective and solidify its proposed concepts.
If possible, please, keep you Video On and your Audio Off. Speaker View is great to keep focus on the flow of the discussion.
What is unique about AI in relation to other computational systems?
What is the general process to apply AI to a given problem?
In this second part of the week we will read and discuss the following themes: 3.5 Fairness and Non-discrimination, 3.6 Human Control of Technology, 3.7 Professional Responsibility, 3.8 Promotion of Human Values. Please, focus on the concepts of each theme and try to connect them with real world examples.
