The misinformation brought about by social networks and other applications enhanced by the ubiquity of smartphones has been recognized as one of the greatest threats to social tissues. O'Connor's text provides an introduction to the basic mechanisms of misinformation and why they are so efficient. Try to focus on the concept of "belief" and relate it to what we have been talking about "meaning."
Several social networks have tried to find mechanisms to stop misinformation campaigns from advancing. In this formative assessment I want to invite you to research a social network and describe its efforts to contain fake news.
